Love, Love, Love this new shirt from Cents of Style. LIFE IS SWEET!!! What a great reminder!! Being a mom, working, taking care of the house, laundry, feeding everyone, getting kids to school and extra activities, is busy and crazy!! Life can be hard and sometimes overwhelming. I like the simple message of this shirt. It reminded me to appreciate how great life really is! This shirt is so soft and I love that I can wear it so many ways! Everyone knows that I love sweets too, so this shirt is a double duty winner for me!! I love cakes and sweet treats. When I saw this shirt, I was inspired to make something sweet and yummy for my family to enjoy! The color reminded me of berries, so I made this cute little cake with strawberry buttercream. This cute naked cake has a fun element with the dots of frosting! super simple to make, but makes a big impression!! All you have to do is slice your 2- 6″ cakes in half horizontally. Fill an icing bag with frosting after you have inserted your large tip, I used this one —> Wilton 1A tip . Pipe dots around the edge of the cake and then fill in the center solid. Place the next layer of cake on top of that and press down softly that will make it bulge out a little. Repeat 2 more times with the other layers and then on the top pipe the dots again around the outside. Using THIS tool, press down in the center of the dot and slide toward the middle of cake. Continue to all dots. Pipe more dots in center and repeat to make more petals and then fill the center solid. How “SWEET” is that?!! AHHHH….what a fun party!! The Circus.
This cake was stacked 3 layers high, with a rice krispie cone on top. Covered in Fondant. Hand made gumpaste elephant!
Perfect little cake for any occasion!
This NAKED CAKE was one of my favorite cakes! The simplicity of the design is so pretty and stunning for every occasion.
The cake is vanilla flavored, filled and topped with buttercream frosting. I got some flowers from the Flower patch http://flowerpatch.com . They were so amazing to work with — if they didn’t have the flowers in the colors I needed, they just sprayed them and made them custom right there in the store! The BLESS sign was created using the Cricut Express AIR. It was so easy to personalize the cake for this event with this amazing machine.
I was so blessed to be given the opportunity to make this cake for some of my closest friend’s baby blessing. The day was perfect for a perfect little girl , Indy Llew. Indy looked so stunning in her beautiful dress created by Threads of light https://www.facebook.com/Threads-of-Light-359056890808409/?fref=ts
Spiderman and Wonder Woman was sooooo fun to do!! This cake for for my little boy and my niece. They were very specific with their choices and we made it happen!!
We had some pretty happy super heros at this party!
Spiderman was covered in fondant. Black fondant was rolled into long snakes and then placed on cake. Royal icing, colored black, was then piped in-between the rolls. The eyes were cut by hand out of gumpaste.
Wonder Woman’s logo was cut by hand with an exacto knife and dusted with gold edible dust. The stars were cut out of gumpaste using the cricut cake machine.
The Hobby Cake was made for one of my close friends Easton’s 30th Birthday.
His wife wanted a detailed cake to express his love for traveling, snowboarding, kayaking, and the beach.
If you look real close you will see the go pro that he lost in the ocean but found a few hrs later!
The top cake was carved, to make the winding road and then covered with Fondant.
The Snowboarder was hand made with gumpaste and placed on the snow slope with edible glitter for snow.
The Waves were created with gumpaste and iced with royal icing. the kayak was made with gumpaste and a figure was inserted.
The sand effect was made with crushed graham crackers and attached with a thin layer of frosting underneath
Gumpaste ruffles made up this beautiful cake.
Gumpaste was rolled into strips and then squished into a small ruffle and placed on cake with gumglue.
This took many hours, but definitely worth the finished product!! The inside of this cake was so fun! I did a Leopard design with the cake batter giving it the spots inside.
