Cookie monster,Milk and cookie bar was so much fun to create using my Cricut Explore Air 2!! get all the details, tutorials, and recipes at sugarcoatedhousewife.com

This birthday party for my baby boy, was so much fun to put together!! Using my Cricut Eplore Air 2 Machine, I was able to make custom decorations!! I went with a milk and cookies menu to go with our Cookie Monster theme. I will be sharing all the details, tips and tricks I found while putting this party together. I have included all my favorite cookie recipes, the fudge, and the Cookie Monster ice cream that I used for the party too!! Lets start with the invites!!

Materials needed:

Cricut Explore Air 2

-Printer

-Black cardstock

-Blue cardstock

-White cardstock

-Brown cardstock

-Zots, Glue stick, Foam squares.

Cookie monster,Milk and cookie bar was so much fun to create using my Cricut Explore Air 2!! get all the details, tutorials, and recipes at sugarcoatedhousewife.comSo much noise and so much fun, our little monster is turning 1!! loved this cute little saying!! To start, open your Cricut Design Space. Search for card, and you can scroll down and find this flat card like this one. Adjust to the size you want you invite. duplicate this image 2 times and change the colors to black and blue. Click on insert image, and search for Cookie Monster. Find this image of just the head and the cookie and insert into canvas. Insert Text, each section was a separate set of words so i could adjust the size to what i needed. Adjust the Cookie Monster and cookie to the size you want. select all of your text and click the attach button on your top right menu box. You will need to do this so that your Cricut will know which card the text it attached to so that it can cut out around it!! You will be doing a print then cut for this part. You will send this part through the printer then place that sheet on the mat to cutout the card. The printer will print lines to help the cricut know the placement. Design space will tell you when to do everything. now we are ready so click the GO button.

You will be prompted to send the first sheet through the printer. Select your printer and click print. You will get an image that looks like this

Place the sheet that you printed on the cutting mat, like pictured. In design space and you will now be prompted to cut out the card. Follow the rest of the promptings by color and cut out all your pieces.

Now to put it all together i used these other gluing items i glued the cookie together. Use the zots to layer the cards and the cookie monster then  use the foam squares to give dimension to the cookie monster and cookie. Look how cute!! I love them!!

Lets make a happy birthday banner!

Materials needed:

Cricut Explore Air 2

11-12×12 Black cardstock papers

4- 12×12 Blue cardstock papers

4-12×12 White cardstock papers

7 -12×12 Brown cardstock papers

Zots

Black string

Hole punch

Open Design Space and search for Cookie Monster and for a cookie. Insert those images and adjust to the size you would like to make. Duplicate the Cookie Monster 4 times and the cookie 13 times. Click GO and follow the prompts to change colors and cut all the images out. Use the Zots to attach the layers together.

Create the Happy Birthday letters in your design space. Adjust them to the size to fit onto your cookies. I used the ZOO DAY font.

Use the Zots to also attach those letters to the cookies. Take the hole punch and punch a hole on both sides of the cookie monsters and the cookies. Weave the string through, going behind the cookies, making sure you leave enough room on the outside to attach it to where ever you will be hanging it.Cookie monster,Milk and cookie bar was so much fun to create using my Cricut Explore Air 2!! get all the details, tutorials, and recipes at sugarcoatedhousewife.com

I made the food labels using the pens to write the words and then cut out the circles. Choose insert shape from the left hand side of
Design Space. I used a circle. Add text and adjust the size and font to what you like. I used Rob & Bob- Seaside from the Circut Fonts. Once you have the letters on the circle, choose which pen you would like to use by clicking on that layer at the right and the window will pop up, choose WRITE and select which pen you are going to want to use. Now you will need to select both the font and the circle and attach them together by clicking attach at the top right on Design Space. Create all your labels and click GO.

Follow the prompts and insert the pen into the Cricut and click GO. The machine will then write and cut out all your labels!! Its so amazing! You can have these cute labels that look handwritten.

One of my favorite parts of this party was the milk bottles!! I made some custom vinyl lettering to add to all the bottles!! I used Cricut’s blue Glitter Vinyl. In Design Space, add text duplicate it for as many bottles that you have. I also made some larger labels to add to my larger milk bottles.

Materials needed-

Cricut, Blue Glitter Vinyl

Transfer tape

Dont worry about laying them all out the program will do that on the next page! Click GO

Load mat with vinyl on it and click GO. Remove the negative  material and then put the transfer tape over all the words. Use your Cricut tool to press and rub the transfer tape over the letters. Cut out each word. Remove vinyl backing and place on the bottle. Rub onto the bottle and remove the transfer tape.Cookie monster,Milk and cookie bar was so much fun to create using my Cricut Explore Air 2!! get all the details, tutorials, and recipes at sugarcoatedhousewife.com

Repeat for the large bottles too. I found all these milk bottles and the larger bottles at Target in the dollar aisle. I seriously love that aisle for party stuff!!

Cookie monster,Milk and cookie bar was so much fun to create using my Cricut Explore Air 2!! get all the details, tutorials, and recipes at sugarcoatedhousewife.com

I also made some little cookies to go on the straws in the milk jars. All i did was choose the cookie in Deisgn Space that i have been using for the party, flatten the image so you can print them in your printer and duplicate them for as many as you need. click Go

Follow the prompts to print from your printer then add to your mat and click GO and your Cricut will cut them out. Use a hole punch and punch a hole in the middle and slide onto the straw!!

I wanted to decorate the babies chair for him to eat his cake. I cut out a large Cookie Monster eating a cookie. You can find it if you search Cookie Monster in Design Space. I adjusted it to be as large as it would go for a 12×12 sheet.

Make sure you use a mat that is good and sticky cause this image is pretty intricate and wont work if the paper isn’t sticking really well. Follow the prompts and then use zots and a glue stick to attach all the pieces together. I also added these cute tissue paper tassles that i got at Michaels.

My favorite is this darling, mint green!!! Seriously, it’s my favorite color and I was so excited when it came out!! I first started in Cricut Design Space and searched Halloween. There were tons of images that came up. I picked a few of my favorites and added them to my canvas. Here you can resize them easily by dragging the corner. There is a ruler that comes up and shows you the exact dimensions of your image. I measured my jars and containers that I would be using and adjusted them to the correct size. I made one sheet of the gold images and one sheet of the silver images. Pressed cut and the machine did its thing!!  This Italian Soda Bar was so much fun to make for my Halloween party. I used the Cricut Explore Air 2 to create vinyl cutouts to personalize this party. This was so much fun!! The Cricut Air 2 was so easy to use. I was worried about cutting the vinyl just right but the dial on the machine had it already set perfect and all I had to do was turn it to the vinyl setting!! Cricut design space was also pretty self explanatory. I was very surprised with how user friendly it was. For my first time using design space and the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. I was so impressed with how quickly my party came together and can’t wait to get started on my next  project. I loved the machine. BABY BOY SHOWER

BABY BOY SHOWER

This baby boy shower has the theme of Mustaches, but you can easily make any theme work for both the Lunch and Dessert menu. Have you heard of, Walking Tacos? They are one of my favorites!!  there is something for everyone!! You have them put all the ingredients right into the Frito bags, add the dressing and your ready to walk around and mingle!! I served other things in addition to the walking tacos. Texas cole slaw salad and individual cornbread cupcakes. All recipes can be found below!!

image-1-1

Whats on the Menu:

First your going to need to get a big box of individual bags Fritos! you can find those HERE. I used some galvanized bins to hold all the Frito bags.IMG_4982

This is the list of Toppings that are my favorite! Corn, Green peppers, Red peppers, Red onion, Cilantro, Ground Turkey or Beef seasoned with taco seasoning (my favorite is Taco bell seasoning ) Chopped Tomatoes, Black Beans, Kidney Beans, Grated cheese, Olives, & Chopped Lettace. Salad Dressings you will want are Ranch and Catalina. Some of my guests wanted more of a salad so they poured their fritos on top of the lettace and added toppings that way whatever way will work! I served all the topping in 2 big lazy susan trays you can find those HERE .IMG_4983

IMG_4985

I served the taco bar with a Texas Cole Slaw and Cornbread. I prefer the Krusteaz Brand for my cornbread, it is amazing you can find it HERE .

IMG_4984

The Texas Slaw is unbelievable and I don’t usually like cole slaw, but the cilantro and ranch make it a delicious side dish for this meal! You can get the recipe here

Surprise 30th Bowling Party! This Party was so much fun!!

The Local bowling alley, Deltons Bowling Alley, in Riverton, UT, has a “back alley” that you can rent out!

It was awesome. It’s a private room that has 4 bowling lanes, a pool table, and darts! There was also a huge screen that covered all 4 lanes that you could have tv or a movie on! It was such a fun atmosphere. For the cake of course, I did a marbled bowling ball. The treat table had the following: Donuts, Bowling pin sugar cookies (this is the cookie cutter I used), black gum balls, swedish fish, red frooties, cupcake size cheesecakes, white chocolate covered pretzels, tootsie rolls, lifesaver white mints, red vines (red & Black).

I used a large piece of wood for the background to give it a bowling lane look. large balloon numbers were purchased at Zurchers. The Mini Bowling pins were found on Amazon.

Main Raindrops 6539

Baby “SHOWER” for Ruby!

I had such a fun time creating this shower, for one of my best friends, Jenny. I wanted to “SHOWER” her with love and celebrate her little Ruby, who was coming soon!! I made the Clouds and Raindrops with white felt. I started by drawing the shapes I wanted for the clouds, on a large piece of butcher paper. then traced that onto the felt, cut that out 2 times for each cloud and sewed them together. leave a small opening to add stuffing. Hand stitch the opening closed when they are filled. I made 3 different shapes to give some variety. Cut out 8 large raindrops, and 7 smaller ones. Stuff and stitch closed.  Use fishing line to make a hanger from the top, and to attach all the raindrops to the clouds. I used a large sewing needle, but it’s hard to push through the material,  so your going to want a thimble to save your fingers!!

Brunch Menu:

Crepe Bar with all the fixin’s (I love this crepe maker, it made making these for a crowd so much easier!). Strawberry, raspberry, peach, and apple pie filling. Peanut Butter & Nutella. Cinnimon Sugar, Powder Sugar, Honey, and Mini Chocolate Chips. Blueberry muffins, Fruit bowl, Egg Casserole, Mini waffles & Mini Pancakes(the frozen ones to make it quick!! ) with  small individual dishes of syrup for dipping. Orange Juice and  Milk to drink.
