Hello Hello!!! Today I am sharing this darling unicorn party!! I created the decor using my new Cricut Cuttlebug!! Have you heard or seen the Cuttlebug before? I am super excited to show you how to use the Cuttlebug and create this darling unicorn party!!
Are you team Cricut or team Silhouette? I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one or both of these cutting machines. These 2 brands are the top electronic cutting machines out right now. The Cricut Explore Air 2 is the latest model that Cricut offers. The Silhouette Cameo 3 is the latest version that Silhouette offers. Both machines are extremely brilliant. The abilities of both machines are great, but I would like to get down and dirty and talk about what the differences are!! A little background about my history with electronic cutting machines. For years I have been familiar with the Cricut machine company. The only machine I used to have was a Cricut Cake!! It was a super fun machine that would allow you to cut gumpaste into amazing shapes that are food safe and can be used on cakes and other food. This machine required cartridges and I have about 9, most of them being the cake edition cartridges. I had so much fun for years creating images and words to add to my cakes. The one downfall that it had was that the cartridges were kinda expensive and you would have to buy a whole cartridge just to get one little image of a car or something. I used the Cricut Cake a few times to convert it into a paper cutting machine. It worked pretty good with the deep cut blade, but at this point it was still like a guessing game trying to place the images on the mat with the keyboard that was on the machine itself! I mainly kept it strictly for cakes and never ventured much into the paper crafting world. Last year I decided I needed to get the new Cricut Explore Air 2. My friend had gotten one and I had seen all the fun things she was able to create right at home! I got my machine in the super cute mint green color, since that’s my favorite color how could I resist!! When I set up the machine it was very straight forward. I followed all the set up instructions and was able to make simple cuts right away! The software was extremely easy to use and easy to navigate. I already loved my machine right away. 6 months after having my Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine, I started talking with some other friends, I found out that they loved the Silhouette machine! I didn’t know much about this machine but they were raving about it! They loved the software and all the new features it had. 1 friend had been a former Cricut machine user and the other has only been straight silhouette. I wanted to have the best machine there was so I needed to see for myself the differences of the two!
I have been hearing many people asking,”Will I use the Cricut Machine enough to justify the price?” the answer is absolutely YES!!!!! Having the Cricut has made so many gifts and parties possible that i never would have done other wise!! Having the ability to create custom items at the drop of a hat is so fun!! I keep my machine out and connected to my computer at all times on my desk. It makes it easy when you need something quick and you avoid the hassle of having to get it out of the box and all set up every time you want to use it!! I have used the Cricut so many times in the last year that it honestly paid for itself in the first month!! Not to mention that I have had so much fun using it !! I love Design space and how simple it is to use! Having the Make it now projects is also such a perk! The Cricut team has taken out the guess work and created them all for you to be able to make a quick project!! In my opinion the Cricut Machine is 100% worth the investment. I love mine so much. Check out my DIY tab and see all the fun projects and parties that I have been able to do since having my Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine. If you have further concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to ask!!
I needed some baby shower gifts and I really wanted to make something that was personalized. I searched, baby, on Cricut Design Space. This is the program that you use to make projects with your Cricut machine. I found this darling, Make it Now project for a binky clip!! This was the perfect project for my gifts! I love all the Cricut Faux Leather which is what was used in the project so I was excited. Have you ever tried using a Cricut machine before? If you haven’t you may not know what a “make it now” project is. These are projects that the Cricut team have already put together for you to make! Your next question may be..Will it be easy for me to use the Cricut software to create Make it Now projects? The answer is YES!!!! The Cricut team has done all the hard work for you and has made it so simple and easy! They have provided you with a description of the project, list of materials needed, and instructions on how to do the project!! It’s so awesome and it even provides the difficulty level and time it will take for the project. I made the Make it Now binky clip and then used the base to make 2 other binky clips. I have shared the tutorials for those also!
I have been getting a few questions about the Cricut machine and so I thought I would write a few posts to help answer some questions! One of the questions i have been hearing lately is..Will I be required to use cartridges with the Cricut? In the past when the Cricut first came out you would have to buy an entire cartidge to get any single image that you wanted. The machine had a slot on it and you would stick the cartridge in it and there was a matching keyboard that you would use to choose your images.
You didn’t have to use a computer but you also couldn’t see what your image was going to look like size wise and location on the paper it was all a guessing game!! The Cricut cartridges were pretty pricy for me and i struggled when i just wanted one little image!! Cricut has done so many things to change the way the Cricut machine works and it’s soooo amazing and simple now!! Cricut has a program called Design Space which they have had in the past that you could link all your cartridges to and use on your computer. You can now use the machine without cartridges!!!! Cricut Design Space now allows you to purchase individual images as you need them or you can pay a monthly membership to join Cricut Access, which will give you access to most of the images and fonts!! its seriously incredible and so affordable! If you have purchased cartridges in the past you can link them to your account and those images and fonts will always be available to you. Another difference with the new machine is that there is no longer is a place for a keypad its all done on the computer now. Its pretty awesome. I love the change that they have made. It has made crafting much easier and less to have to store with this change!! If you dont have your Cricut yet and have been thinking of getting one you should the possibilities with this machine are endless and now easier to use then before click the link below to get yours directly!
If you have been following me lately, you may have seen all my fun posts about the Cricut Machine and all the fun things you can do with it! I wanted to answer some questions and share some of the tools and accessories that I love to use with the Cricut machine and how much they cost. I will link up to all these items below! After you have purchased your Cricut Machine you will need some supplies. The Cricut Explore Air 2 machine that I have includes the following:

It makes removing little cut outs, cutting , slicing, picking up little items, ect…. so much easier. I absolutely love it and use at least 1 tool in every project! They also come in fun colors to match your machine too!
The next item I would suggest adding is extra mats!! Your machine will come with 1 standard grip mat but you will want to have more then one and in the different strengths. The mats come in Light, Standard, and strong. YOu will also want some pens!! This feature is so much fun. You can write on your cards, notes, place settings, party favors ect.. its so much fun to add some extra details and the pensare offered in a variety of colors. I would suggest getting the new Ultimate Fine Point Set. It comes with 30 different pens in all sorts of colors! You will also want supplies to work with such as cardstock, vinyl, iron-on, leather, and craft foam. Cricut even offers a washi sheet! How fun it that? They have so many products that you can use depending on the projects that your working on. Check out the links below to see how much these extra accessories will cost. Everything Cricut has to offer in their shop will help make creating your projects so much easier and make them happen! please feel free to leave any questions you have below!!
For years I have wanted to get a paint sprayer but I have been to afraid! It seemed so intimidating and I had heard that clean up was a pain and that they wasted so much paint!!! Well… I am exploding with excitement over the Wagner Paint Sprayer!!!
Wow is all I can say!! I was blown away at how easy it was to use and how affordable it was!! The sprayer and paint container are all plastic and so easy to clean up. I had this old dresser that my parents had gave me. I wanted to give it a makeover and use it in my hallway as an overflow for my tiny linen closet. I love to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and decided to give it a try in the sprayer. I love that there is no sanding or priming involved with this type of paint and I love the look when it’s done. I had done some research online about using chalk paint in sprayers and the Wagner sprayer said on the box that Chalk paint may require thinning. I decided to try it out and see if it worked and then I would add some water and thin if necessary. To my surprise with all my testing it was working beautifully with NO THINNING NEEDED!!!!! …
