We are going to start with the wood first. You are going to need 8- 8 foot 2×4’s
Measure one piece 10.5 inches, Cut that piece using a chop saw
Use that piece as a guide to measure all the other pieces. DO NOT JUST MEASURE AND CUT THE WHOLE BOARD. You will get off on your measurements as when you cut the blade may take over some space. Continue with all 8 boards in the same process. Make sure to wear protective eye wear as you do this.
*make sure as you cut 3 pieces line them up. Measure and make sure it is 10.5 width across the 3 boards this will make sure that when you cut the next one and place it the opposite direction that they will all line up as a square.
Using an electric sander, Sand all the edges and sides to make sure they are smooth so no one get a splinter.

You can see in the photo below that sanding all the edges makes a huge difference and you will not want to skip this step. You will be happy in the long run.

Grab a drink, head inside, and lets cut out the Smart Iron-On for the truths and dares.
I chose to use the Smart Iron-On because the length of the project came out to be 27.02″ which is longe then a 24″ mat. This made it super quick and a one cut job. If you don’t have a machine that is compatible with smart materials (Maker 3 or Explore Air 3) You can still do this project you will just need to use 2 rolls of 24″ Everyday Iron-On.

Place your Cricut Roll Holder onto the machine (Optional if you have it ) Load your Smart Iron-On Into the machine *Shiny side down* .
In Cricut Design space once you have opened up the project, click make it at the top right. Choose your material type make sure your image is MIRRORED!! Click cut.
I chose a stencil font for this project to make the weeding process so much easier. When you have a large amount of words to weed, If you use a stencil font, it will pull out the middles so that you don’t have to go back and get them all. You will have a few that might tear and you have to pull out but it will be significantly faster with a stencil font. You can see in the image below that its just pulling up so easy!!!

Once you have the Iron on all weeded. Preheat your EasyPress Mini. I used it on High heat so all 3 lines should be lit up. This heat was perfect and really melted the iron on into the wood. Cut all the lines or words apart. Place one line on one piece of wood on the side. Using the EasyPress Mini, Place and could to 5 then move and count to 5 continue along the entire sentence. Carefully peel the liner up. Sometimes you may need to hit a spot here or there with a little more heat so just make sure to peel carefully just incase. Continue with all the blocks until you have used all the truths and dares.

Since you will be sliding these blocks in a and out you will want to add an additional level of protection to your project. I tried several diff choice and the Mod Podge worked the best. Brush a thin layer of the Mod Podge over the Iron on to ensure it is sealed and will last from being slide in and out as your game is played. It is really quick but you will want to let it dry over night to harden.

Once you have let the Mod Podge dry it time for set up!! As you place the blocks make sure that your truths and dares are on the inside of the blocks so that as people pick a block they don’t know if it has a truth, dare, or blank on it. Place 3 blocks and start a new row in the opposite direction. Gather the troop and start up a game!!

My boys have had soo much fun playing this game! It’s fun and silly and adds a level of excitement as you don’t know what you’re going to get!! Also a great help for reading practice for your little ones that are just learning!!

I hope you will love your new DIY outdoor game ,Truth or Dare Giant Jenga!! We have really enjoyed it in our house!!
