Valentines is right around the corner!!!! I always love having a fun shirt to wear during the holidays!! I decided to make my own this year!! Using the Cricut Explore Air 2 , I whipped these babies up in no time!! Cricut has so many materials you can cut now! From the traditional paper and cardstock to vinyl of all kinds and colors, craft foam, faux leather, fabric!! its seriously so amazing!! Today I will be sharing my valentine shirts and I used a few different types of the Iron-on vinyls, thats are available through Cricut.
For mine, I found this cute, mauve shirt. Its form Target you can get it the exact one –> HERE . For this project I used the Iron-on Lite, in Linen for the White Heart. I used the Foil Iron-On, in Rose Gold for the XOXO.
On the left of the screen, when you create a new project, you can easily add a heart shape. Make it White, and add text. Type your XOXO and choose a font. Adjust the size you want and click GO. Make sure you click the box to mirror image for the Iron-On. Follow prompts to change out mats for color changes. To apply the iron-on to the shirt warm the area you want to place the image then place the image and cover with a light cloth and on aa high setting and using pressure apply the white heart. Turn down the Heat setting for the foil as it is a much lighter material. Place it where you would like it on the heart and iron it on. How easy was that???? Seriously I made this shirt in less then 10 minutes!!!! It is so fun to create your own shirts, cause you know one else is going to be walking around with the same one.
For the boys Shirts I did 3 different designs. The first one I did using the Printable Iron-on. You can purchase either Light or dark printable iron-on and print a custom image to put on a shirt, bag, pillow, ect. I used the light iron-on for this project, but i think it would have been better on a white shirt. I would use the dark iron-on for a grey shirt next time. The iron on material is still white, that you print on, it is just thicker so it’s not see through.
I also uploaded my own images which was very easy and Cricut Design Space has made it simple to delete the background and get the image you want. I found this image on an Etsy shop and bought the digital package. I then clicked upload images in Design Space. Follow the instructions to get your image uploaded it was very self explanatory. Once you have your image uploaded, adjust to the right side. Add text, I used the Cricut Font. Now add some little hearts. Now your ready to print and cut. Place your printable material in the printer face down. Follow the prompts
The image will be printed with these lines on it. This is so that the Cricut knows where the images is to cut. click go and it will cut aroung your image!! It’s so cool. Now you do not want to use the transfer tape because it will melt. Trust me i had to do this twice!! So you can carefully peel it away it fro the negative and it stays together no problem. Place it on your shirt. Finish printing the letters and the hearts. Make sure to check the box for the Mirror Image for the Iron-On material. Place your Iron-on materials face down to print. Apply the images to your shirt by using a light cloth.
He was so excited to have this shirt!! YODA one for me!!!
For this shirt, I also uploaded my own image. I searched images on google for hearts. This image came up and I saved it. In Cricut design space, Click upload image. Follow instruction for the complex image and delete what you don’t want to show. I deleted all the black color. I wanted it to look like fire so I used to Foil Iron-On material. I used the Red and Gold to give it the two tone effect!!!
Add Text to the project and resize to what you need.
Click Go and follow prompts to change out mats for color changes. Remove the negative from images and place on shirt. You will have to do this in layers so start with the gold first. I did the gold and letters all together. then added the red foil slightly off to the side.
This shirt turned out soo awesome!! I loved the foil iron-on. It gave it the real effect of the fire!! Here is my little Hunk of burning love!!
The last Shirt that i did was using the Lite Iron-on Vinyl in Red. It was very simple. Add text to the project page. #Bachelor and click Go. Place Iron-on material face down and cut. Remove negative and place on shirt.
Taking this picture was so fun!! He was so cute! He has his mamma’s heart!! Will you accept my rose? lol i am a huge Bachelor Show fan so this was funny to do !!
