Do you have kids that love art? Create a gender neutral art party for kids with DIY Cricut crafts and decor. My son loves all things arts and crafts and that was his request for his birthday this year. Most of his friends in the neighborhood are actually girls so we wanted to make sure it was very gender neutral art party in the projects that we chose to do. Cricut made it easy to make several items for the party so you get to be creative while getting ready for the party too! We had 4 activities for this party. I separated the kids into groups and they rotated each station. It’s always a good idea to ask a couple people to help you out at the party. Each station had an adult to help out. Read more to get the step by step party set up, Cricut craft tutorials, and links to get all the things.
The party was split up into 3 stations and then we had an activity everyone did all together at the end.

Cricut Vinyl-any color really
Cricut 12×24 Standard cutting mat
Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine
You will need to prepare a canvas for each child with their initial on it. In Cricut Design Space, create each initial. I did the 6 inches tall each. I used the Cricut Sans Font. Type each letter out and then click make it. Using a 12×24 cutting mat, place vinyl on mat and cut. Use the steps below to apply the transfer tape.
WEED VINYL SHEET APPLY TRANSFER PAPER PEEL BACK CORNER FOLD PAPER BACK APPLY TO VINYL SHEET USE SCRAPER TO ADHERE TO VINYL SHEET.
After applying the transfer paper, cut each letter apart.

Attach each letter onto the canvases. You will want to place something under the canvas to support the hollow area in the middle to apply the vinyl. I used a Cricut EasyPress mat but you could also use a towel.
SUPPORT CANVAS REMOVE BACKING PLACE AND SCRAPE REMOVE TRANSFER PAPER
Table set up:
You will want to place each canvas on the table with an apron, paint brush, paper towel, cup of water, paint palette. Place all the paint bottles int he middle of the table. I had each child tell me the colors they wanted and I poured it onto their pat palette for them. This is a great gender neutral party craft idea and they can choose their apron color!

Pearler beads- I love this one with all the colors separated. I got 2
Cricut EasyPress 2 -6×7 or home iron.
This craft is so much fun! Takes time and kids get to be creative. I LOVE this pearler bead set. It comes with so many colors, a carrying case, 100 full size patterns, and the peg boards. I have found that using my Cricut EasyPress2 to heat the beads when the kids are done is so easy. Set up a table for the Cricut EasyPress or your home iron will work too. Have an adult in charge of pressing their designs when they are done. Use a piece of parchment paper in-between the design and your press so you don’t melt them onto your press. I usually count to about 13 turnt the design over and press for another 10.
*Make sure and let them cool before letting the kids touch them.

Lots of candy with holes in them-
Lifesavers gummy and hard , peach o’s, foot loops.
Baggies
Prepare each bag ahead of time for the kids. This will help so all the kids are not touching each others candy. Each bag had a good variety of all the candy. The kids can sting the candy on as they like, eat the leftovers and tie it around their neck as a necklace.

SUPPLIES NEEDED-
Balloons
Small candy
balloon string
The last activity was a candy balloon pop! I prepared 1 balloon for each kid. the balloon had candy placed inside. You do this by holding open the balloon, insert candy, and blow up the balloon.
Tie string onto each balloon. When it’s time for the activity, tie a balloon around each kids ankle. On the count of 3 they all try to go around stomping on each others balloons to pop them and get the candy out, while trying not to get their balloon popped! It’s a really fun game and really funny to watch too!!

blue painters tape
The last project for this art party is the cake!! Of course we have to have cake!! Since this was art themed we went with a painters palette brushed styled cake. The main frosting of this cake is actually a very simple technique after stacking and frosting the cake white. You can also purchase a plain white cake from your local bakery. In mixing bowls, Mix 5 diff colors of frosting. Red, yellow, green, orange and blue. Using a small spatula and starting at the base of the cake take a small amount of frosting and swipe up in a single motion. Doesn’t have to be perfect. This will create a brush stroke type of look continue with all the colors rotating them all the way around the cake. This cake is a great gender neutral party idea and will work for boys or girls!

I got some large round colorful suckers at the dollar store that were the perfect colors to help fill the top.
Now you need to create the custom little paint palette to go on top of the cake.

Load the Knife blade into your Cricut Maker machine. Place your heavy chipboard onto the mat and secure using the painters tape. Since the board is such a dense material and so much pressure is being used to cut the thick board, you have to secure it just a little more with the painters tape.
Push all 4 star wheels on your machine to the right hand side. This material is very thick and the star wheel swill leave impressions that you don’t want on your project. Load your prepared mat into the machine and cut. Make sure you have chosen the material type to be the Heavy Chipboard 2.0mm. The machine will take several passes and Cricut design space will give you that progress bar on the screen as it’s cutting.
Cut your vinyl. I did not use any transfer tape to apply this because it was small and kept its shape just fine. I also didn’t want the transfer tape to pull away at the chipboard. Using the paint and brush from the party supplies, then add some dots of paint to your palette and your ready to add it to your cake!!
Add some colorful napkins and plates and you are set to go! I found these ones at Walmart.

This party was such a hit and the kids had sooo much fun! They had so many fun projects to take home and they were busy the whole time! Here is a photo of most of the crew and their adorable canvas designs! You can leave the vinyl on the canvas or remove it if enough paint was applied to show the letter (we forgot to take the vinyl off before picture) They all did such a good job and surprisingly we didn’t have a huge mess.

I hope this post helped you create your own gender neutral art party that’s fun for everyone! Make sure and grab all your supplies above to make it simple and easy. Thanks so much for stopping by!!
