You guys! Halloween is almost here and it’s my FAVORITE!!!! When Cricut came out with their new Infusible Ink and the Infusible Ink totes, I knew right away that Halloween trick or treat bags were a must!! For one, These Cricut Infusible Ink Totes will be sooooo much easier to store then those huge pumpkin trick or treat buckets! I love that i can customize them to match my kids costumes too. That’s what so awesome about having a Cricut machine, you can personalize and make anything into a custom piece. I’ve got a fun new project for you. Do you know how to layer Infusible ink? Have you ever done the knockout method on a project? It’s where you cut an image into a set of words so you can still read the words but you can see an image pop out too! Read on to see the full tutorial and videos.
I’ve created 3 different tote bags in this tutorial. Each one will provide a full supply list and video tutorials about application and layering Infusible Ink.

Once you have created your design in Design Space, send it to your machine to cut. Make sure all your images are mirrored!
Apply your Infusible ink according to the mat you are starting with. Make sure that your hands are free from moisture as it will remove the ink from the transfer sheets. For this reason you will see me put gloves on during the video below. My hands tend to be a little clammy, so I choose to use gloves to avoid that direct contact as I press the Transfer sheet onto the Cricut mat.
When your machine is done cutting, unload your mat and place it face down. Peel your Cricut mat away from your Infusible Ink transfer sheet to help it not curl.
Remove the negative parts by weeding the vut image with your hands.

Continue until all 3 images have been cut and weeded. Now for the part that different for Infusible Ink. Infusible ink is only supposed to be pressed once. To allow layering you will need to manually transfer the pieces all onto on transfer tape . Watch the video below to see this process. It really doesn’t take as long as you think.
Your design is now all ready to press. Infusible Ink requires a couple extra steps for this process please follow these tips.
PreHeat your Cricut EasyPress 2 according to the heat guide found HERE
-Insert EasyPress 9×9 mat into the tote bag. Make sure the bottom of the bag is not under the mat pull it out so you have a solid, flat surface. MAke sure handles are up and out of the way.
-Insert a piece of 12×12 white cardstock on top of the EasyPress mat. This will protect the mat from any bleed through.
-Lint roll the tote in several directions.
-Cover tote with the butcher paper provided for you inside your roll of Infusible Ink transfer sheets. Preheat tote for 15 seconds.

-Apply design ink side down onto tote.
-Cover design with butcher paper and press for 40 seconds
-Carefully remove press, butcher paper and design.
-If any left over pieces of paper are left on design, use some tweezers to remove.

The results of Cricut’s Infusible Ink is just unbelievable! I absolutely love it everytime I use it. The patterns are so fun too.

Your done!! I know this one was a little more tedious of a design to transfer by hand to the other sheet but the results were 100% worth it ! Plus i found it to be relaxing and a fun craft to enjoy.
