The Cricut Hat Press is here and it’s amazing!! In the post today I will show you how to use the Cricut Hat Press. Using the new Cricut Heat App, the Cricut Heat is so easy to use with the step by step prompts from the bluetooth Cricut Heat App. I love that the Cricut Hat Press comes with the press form. This helps create that firm pressing surface for those curved surfaces of the hat. Allowing you to get an ideal press every time.
There is a simple set up when you first open your Cricut Hat Press. Download the Cricut Heat App on your phone from the App store. Click add a device and choose Hat Press. Follow the steps to connect your Cricut Hat Press. From the app you can heat the Hat Press up to the needed temperature! Simply select start a new project. select the material type and iron on product type. The app will tell you the settings and you can click send settings to Hat Press! Wow! I am really impressed with that feature. It makes it so quick and easy and once again takes all the thinking out of using these amazing Cricut products.
Today we are going to be creating a wild flower hat using Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet and the Cricut Infusible Ink Pen.

Cricut Hat Press ( Pressing for included)
Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet- Patterns, Distressed Berry
Cricut Infusible Ink Pen- 0.4 Black
Cricut Machine mat- Light Grip
Cricut Machine Mat- Standard Grip
1 sheet of Laser Copy Paper
GET THE FREE DESIGN SPACE FILE FOR THE HAT HERE : WILD & FREE HAT DS FILE
Open up Cricut Design space by clicking the Project file above. Click Make It. Let’s start by drawing the dandelion image onto the laser copy paper.
On a blue light grip mat, place your laser copy paper. Place the 0.4 Black Infusible Ink Pen into the machine in Clamp A as pictured below. *MAKE SURE BOTH OF YOUR IMAGES ARE MIRRORED!!! Load your mat and click GO. The Machine will the draw the design onto the laser copy paper. When done, unload mat flip over and peel the mat away from the paper. Set aside.
Place your purple Infusible Ink transfer sheet onto a green standard grip Cricut Mat. Place the ink side up and MAKE SURE YOUR IMAGE IS MIRRORED. Click go and cut image.
Using scissors cut a small rectangle around both of your images.
Carefully Weed the Cricut Infusible Ink Sheet. The Words are delicate so be careful and go slow. Pop the inside cuts out with your hands by slightly bending it until a corner pops out and you can remove it. Pre heat your Cricut Hat Press. You can do this manually or using the Cricut Heat App. I love the new Heat App its so interactive and awesome! Simply open up the Cricut Heat App, start new project, choose material base and iron on material. Send heat settings to Cricut Hat Press. Take your hat and open it up on the back.
Fold down the sweat band and place on the Cricut Pressing Form. Lint roll the white surface. Preheat the surface for 5 seconds with the Cricut Hat Press.
Place the wild & free image ink side down in the middle bottom first and tape along the bottom with the Cricut Heat Resistant tape. Then place the dandelion image design face down and tape all the way around.
Using the Cricut Hat Press with light pressure and move back and forth for the 90 seconds required for the Infusible Ink pen and transfer sheet. When done, carefully remove the taped images and you’re done!!!
Isn’t that amazing!!! I love the professional quality of the results!! The Cricut Hat Press made being able to put the material onto the curved shape of the hat so easy and effortless. When you use infusible ink, it basically becomes one with the fabric it’s so cool and is my very very favorite!!
